Mr Nalaka de Silva
ENT and Sleep Surgeon in Melbourne
Dr. Nalaka de Silva is an Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) Surgeon, with expertise in sleep apnoea surgery. He has published his results showing over 90% of the patients avoid a CPAP machine after surgery.
Nalaka de Silva is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and performs procedures at Peninsula Private Hospital. He completed his medical degree in Newcastle and underwent ENT surgical training in Auckland. Following that, he further honed his skills with two years of post-graduate fellowship training at Monash Health in Melbourne.
Dr. de Silva strongly advocates for a holistic approach to treating sleep apnoea. With over ten years of experience in advanced sleep surgery, he co-founded the Centre for Sleep Surgery CSSC in 2018. In addition to his surgical practice, he is actively engaged in research, blending top European techniques with Australian methods to develop the Modified BRP approach. He has proven that modern surgery, combined with non-surgical techniques, offers over 85% success rates.
Dr Juan Mulder Respiratory and Sleep Physician

Dr Juan Mulder is a Consultant Respiratory and Sleep Medicine Physician. He is a fellow of the Royal Australasian Society of Physicians, a member of the Thoracic Society of Australia and a Registered Polysomnographic.
He has a particular interest in sleep disorders, especially complex disorders such as insomnia, parasomnia, narcolepsy, restless legs syndrome and sleep apnoea. He is a firm believer in a multimodal approach to managing sleep disorders, given their frequently complex nature. Thus, he undertook additional training in Intensive Care to enable him to manage complex modes of invasive and non-invasive ventilation.
He has a public appointment with Peninsula Health and works at both Frankston Public Hospital and Peninsula Private Hospital.
